Notion Work Item Control Library
A common complaint about work management in the current version of Microsoft Visual Studio Team System is that relationships between work items, such as between requirements and tasks, can only be represented as peer relationships. There's no way to identify that a Task 'belongs' to a Requirement, even though many teams organize their work in a hierarchical manner. As a result, teams define implicit parent-child relationships and develop reports to display those relationships.

The Notion Work Item Control Library contains custom work item controls that help teams visualize and maintain hierarchical relationships between work items in a Team Project. This means that teams can build and visualize a full hierarchy of work items and see, for example, how a requirement has been split into sub-requirements or the tasks that collectively implement a requirement. The Notion Work Item Control Library requires the Notion Tools for Team System server components.
Features of the Notion Work Item Control Library include:
- Create and view hierarchical Work Item relationships
- Configuration and enforcement of valid parent-child relationships
- Robust Work Item navigation
- Manage work item rollups
- View full work item hierarchy to see rollups
