Orantech Technologies Project Party
Orantech Technologies' ProjectParty™ is the preferred mechanism for providing server-level integration between Microsoft’s EPM hub, Project Server, and Microsoft’s ALM hub, Team Foundation Server. ProjectParty™ provides the ability for project management and development team members to work at the level appropriate for each team but maintain the critical relationships between these roles. Each team member can work with the tools suitable to their roles, can be led by the processes and templates defined by industry best practices and corporate strategies.
In the scope of application lifecycle, ProjectParty™ enables application development projects to gracefully operate in an organization that is embracing EPM. Historically project management and development track at incompatible levels. Project plans that provide sufficient detail to understand building applications are too large and complex, require too much management and planning overhead and are inflexible and fragile. Higher level project plans which are effective for planning and management are not effective for tracking changes to applications; development teams that operate at that high level fail to accurate capture status, cannot trace how application changes relate to the plans, have difficulty with bucket management (e.g., time planned for defect fixes), rarely use actual performance to refine future estimates and plans, and typically incur overhead from double-entry into multiple disconnected systems. Through its integration, aggregation and mapping services, ProjectParty™ provides the ability for both models to coexist and allows organizations to realize the benefits of ALM.
