Overview

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (formerly Visual Studio Team System 2010) is an entirely new series of productive, integrated life-cycle tools that help development teams communicate and collaborate more effectively. Based on Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008, the new Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate provides tools to support the entire software development team—solution architects, analysts, product managers, developers, and testers.

At Notion Solutions, Inc. our primary focus is to maximize your success with Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (or Premium). Our process is unique. We work with you to understand your environment and culture. We ask questions. We provide constant communication. And most important, we deliver a truly holistic approach to adopting Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (or Premium) and Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010.

Installing and Admininstering Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (or Premium)

Many organizations are choosing to adopt Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate / Premium (with Team Foundation Server 2010) for various reasons. Whether your decision is based on a better source control system, the testing tools or primarily a cost factor, we can help.  You may not quite understand the full capabilities of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate or how to get started. We recommend a 'three-phased' approach that consists of training, consulting and an effective installation.

Maybe you are still evaluating Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and are unsure if it is the right solution for you? You have seen demos and heard it costs less than competitor tools, but you still have questions? Notion Solutions offers Envisioning Sessions and/or Proof of Concepts. We can guide you through the features of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate as you try to understand how the product can help your organization.

Upgrading to Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate (or Premium)

The goal of the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Migration Planning Workshop is to create a roadmap for migrating a company to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate/Premium (VS 2010) and Team Foundation Server 2010 (TFS 2010). This is done by reviewing the capabilities of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and TFS 2010 and also reviewing how a company is using Visual Studio Team System 2005 or 2008 today. In order for many of the new features of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate to function, changes will need to be made to the existing environment. Whether you’re looking for the new dashboard reporting features, or the new test case management features, simply upgrading an existing environment won’t be sufficient. SharePoint, report and process template changes will need to be made, and training will need to take place. The deliverable for this workshop is a report that contains information gathered from the workshop, an evaluation of your current Microsoft Visual Studio Team System environment and its use, and a roadmap detailing how to most effectively migrate your existing environment to Visual Studio 2010 Ulimate / Premium.
